Do you have a bucket list goal to visit all 50 states? I do, and the only state that remains for me to visit is Alaska. Other Americans often find themselves in a similar predicament. They manage to make their way to all of the 48 contiguous states, but Alaska remains the lone holdout. Or, in some instances, that other faraway place known as Hawaii fails to move to the ‘places visited’ list, due to long flights and high travel costs.
For America’s breweries, Alaska and Hawaii are often off the table when expansion opportunities are evaluated because, like with consumers, the costs are often too great and this is why the beer selection in these two states is quite limited. Well, our friends at Founders Brewing have been stuck at 49 states for a while but they announced today that Hawaii will be joining the Founders family. The deal has been signed with Odom Hawaii, making the Grand Rapids- based brewery one of the very few to expand its distribution reach to all 50 states.
