Craft Brewers Conference 2015 is underway and the city of Portland is swelling in size as more than 10,000 craft beer industry employees, media personnel, and others make their way to the City of Roses. A large number of events are planned for CBC 2015 attendees, but there are other events open to all. One of them is Amber Waves, scheduled for April 16, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Castaway Portland, located at 1900 NW 18th Avenue. This event is in its third year and is unique in the sense that it combines the art of beer with the traditional forms of art found at art museums for a one-of-a-kind experience.
Amber Waves, sponsored by Dogfish head Brewing and Victory Brewing, will feature 24 different breweries and in keeping with the “amber” theme, each brewery will contribute an amber- colored beer along with a piece of custom art. There will be a silent auction held during the event and those in attendance are encouraged to bid on anything that catches their eye.
