Travel is an important part of life. The opportunity to visit new places, see incredible natural scenery, and partake in local culture and events makes travel one of life’s greatest pleasures. Escorted travel excursions are even better because you, the travel guest, get to sit back and enjoy the journey while someone else takes care of the planning, arrangements, and more while also serving as a guide to answer questions and make your vacation the best it can be. Add beer to the equation and you have what could easily be the experience of a lifetime. This is what you get when you book a vacation with American Experiences: Culturally Inspired Group Travel, brought to you by TourMappers North America.
Beer and Culture Across America
With American Experiences, guests can select among several itineraries in different parts of the United States. At present, there are seven different options available, with scheduled tours taking place in 2017 and 2018:
- Brew England: Beaches, Bluffs, and Beer
- Thanksgiving in Brew England
- Colorado Mountain Crests & Craft Brews
- Pacific Northwest Peaks & Pours
- A Taste of Texas & the 2- Step
- A Southern Story: Sounds & Spectacles
- Great Lakes Explorer: Music, Malt, and Magical Mackinac
If you want to plan a trip as soon as possible, Brew England has a trip scheduled for September 30. Starting in Boston, Massachusetts, guests will explore local sites, learn about early American history, and of course, sample locally brewed beer. The Brew England experience lasts 7 days and includes stops in such interesting and memorable places as Portsmouth, New Hampshire; Portland, Maine; Jackson, New Hampshire and the White Mountains; Stowe, Vermont; and Woodstock, Vermont before returning to Boston. There is even a post- tour available in Boston, with two additional days to explore the area, take in the sights, and enjoy local beer brewed by such New England stalwarts as Boston Beer/Sam Adams, Harpoon, Allagash, and more.
Other American Experiences include diverse regions of the United States such as The Pacific Northwest, the American South, the Great Lakes region, the Colorado Rockies, and the great state of Texas. There is even a second tour of the New England states, scheduled for Thanksgiving. This is ideal for those who want to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast in the area of the nation often credited for starting the Thanksgiving Day tradition.

Beyond the Brew
Beer travel is one of life’s greatest joys and anyone who follows Great Beer Now knows that I embark on multiple beer- themed vacations every year. Visiting new breweries is an amazing experience all by itself, but even a relentless advocate of malt, hops, and active fermentation like me will freely admit that there is more to life than beer. This is why I make it a point to include visits to museums, historic sites, parks, and other things relevant to the local way of life, no matter where I visit. I like this because it allows me the chance to soak up the culture and I leave with a feeling of satisfaction, knowing that I not only discovered new beer, but also experienced the local area on a more intimate level.
With American Experiences, tours certainly include local beer, but there is much more to these escorted vacations than beer and breweries. At each stop along the way, guests are taken to see interesting and often unique sites that define that specific region or city. It could be a walk on Boston’s famed Freedom Trail, a drive through Colorado’s amazing Rocky Mountain National Park, a tour of Elvis Presley’s Graceland in Memphis, or a ride on New Hampshire’s Mount Washington Cog Railway. You get to know the region you visit on multiple levels and see some of the greatest sights and landmarks while also partaking in the finest craft beer each region has to offer.
