Toasting success has become something of a regular tradition for the members of the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild in recent months, and they’re clinking glasses once again thanks to being given the “Best Grassroots Campaign” nod by the Arizona Capitol Times.
Awarded as a result of the Guild’s work to pass SB1030, also known as “The Arizona Beer Bill,” the win comes only a few weeks before the new legislation is set to take effect Friday, July 3. Under it, state breweries can expand their production limits without having to shutter their restaurants and tasting rooms, and can also carry one another’s craft products on tap, cross-promoting one another while exposing countless new craft beer drinkers to Arizona’s unique and booming brewing industry.
“We can’t thank the public and our customers enough for the massive role everyone played in getting this passed,” said Rob Fullmer, Executive Director of the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild. “We said from the start this couldn’t be done without community support, and the recognition from the Capitol Times only confirms it.”
Many breweries around the state were already planning special events centered around SB1030 taking effect July 3. Now, brewery owners and customers alike have one more reason to raise a glass. And raise a glass they will, with a virtual toast at midnight on July 3rd. The guild is asking all those involved in the craft beer community to post on social media their “toast” so that we can all celebrate together(no matter where you are located) using the hashtags #chooseazbrews and #azbeerbill. Then get ready for community events over the holiday weekend to say “thank you” to people around our state for their support and to celebrate the growing craft beer business.
