Bell’s Brewery, the highly acclaimed Michigan brewing operation, has announced the addition of another beer to its year- round lineup.
Bell’s is known for its expertise with American IPA and wheat beers and the new beer combines the best of both into one. The beer is called Official American Wheat IPA, a beer made with Mosaic, Azzaca, Citra, Amarillo, and El Dorado hops. The beer is slightly tamer than the typical American IPA, weighing in at a modest 6.4 percent alcohol by volume, for a more approachable experience.
Brewery President and Founder Larry Bell says the new beer will appeal to both its IPA and wheat beer fan bases.
“We do American IPAs really well,” said Bell. “We also do wheat beers very well. Official brings the best of both and combines them in a way that is approachable and enjoyable no matter what you prefer.”
Official American Wheat IPA might seem a tad too generic as a name for beer, but Bell says it was selected because it conveys, in basic terms, what the beer is all about.
“The name of the beer is simple, yet it makes a statement. This is our interpretation of what a hoppy wheat beer should taste like,” Bell says.
Bell’s Official American Wheat IPA will be sold in 4 packs of 16 oz. cans, in 6 packs of 12 oz. cans, and on draught across Bell’s distribution area. Look for it where Bell’s products are currently sold beginning in February, 2019.
