Colorado’s Oskar Blues Brewery, the business that helped re- popularize metal cans as a viable beer packaging option, is expanding its ongoing partnership with three- time national champion mountain biker Jeff Lenosky. The result of this latest collaboration is TB IPA, an India Pale Ale that takes its name from Lenosky’s Trail Boss moniker.
Lenosky, who is no stranger to the joys of biking and brew, is a strong promoter of the great things that can happen when mountain biking and craft beer intersect.
“Partnering with Oskar Blues to collaborate on a beer is a dream come true,” said Lenosky. “I remember finishing a ride many years ago and someone handed me a Dale’s. I never would have dreamed mountain biking and craft beers would become so intertwined and that I would become part of that culture.”
TB IPA is brewed both to taste great and serve as a post mountain bike ride refresher. The beer features flavors such as tropical fruit, berry, pineapple, and mixed citrus combined with a backdrop of toasted malt. The beer weighs in at 4.9 percent alcohol by volume and contains 35 IBUs. Numbers like these, combined with the refreshing qualities, make this beer an ideal post- workout reward.
Lenosky has been partnering with Oskar Blues for some time, supporting its non- profit branch known as Can’d Aid. Among his many charitable activities, Lenosky has served as a Treads + Trails ambassador for Can’d Aid, hosting bike build and bike donations across the United States. His efforts have helped get almost 3,000 bicycles into the hands of low income children over the past 5 years.
TB IPA will be available starting in mid- November, 2019 and it will be served on draft at all Oskar Blues taprooms. Look for it in stores where Oskar Blues beer products are presently sold and enjoy a serving or two of this refreshing, session IPA following your next bike ride or workout.
