Tennessee’s Blackberry Farm Brewery is one of the state’s most highly regarded, receiving both critical acclaim and generous ratings from the craft beer public. The east Tennessee brewery’s beers are distinguished for many reasons, among them their packaging, which has always been in a corked and caged bottle, similar to that of a bottle of wine. This, however, is about to change as Blackberry Farms introduces canned beers, slated for release in July, 2017.
First to make their way to metal are three new Blackberry Farm beers: Screaming Cock Pale Ale, Coyote Tactics IPA, and TN Times Pilsner. The 12 oz. cans will feature designs created by artists who presently share some sort of relationship with Blackberry Farm. Chief Fermentation Officer Roy Milner says the can’s artwork is meant to inspire an active and fulfilling life.
“Much like the beers, we wanted each label to have its own personality,” said Milner. “Working with artists familiar with Blackberry Farm’s culture ties this project closer to the people that we interact with on the Farm. We want the cans to feel more youthful, bold, and in the moment. These new beers are meant to inspire recreating, connecting, and enjoying yourself and an active lifestyle.”
Blackberry Farm Brewery will be working with Brew Hub, a craft beer service outfit, to bring its canned beers to the people. The move to metal cans makes sense, as cans are more portable and fit into a broader range of lifestyle and situational moments. Milner says the decision to utilize the services of Brew Hub was fitting, as both sides in the partnership place quality above all else.
“We’re incredibly happy to be working alongside the team at Brew Hub to begin offering our new can line of beers. Their dedication to quality and attention to detail are second-to-none, and reflect the same passion and care that have been the foundation of our own brewing program since day one. It’s a natural fit and an exciting new chapter for our brewery,” said Milner.
The new Blackberry Farm Brewery cans will be available in taprooms, at restaurants, and in stores where Blackberry Farm beers are presently sold, within the home state of Tennessee. For more information, visit online at www.blackberryfarm.com/brewery
