Wrapping up another record breaking Oktoberfest season, the time has come to pack up those lederhosen and dirndl until next year’s celebration. At Brat Haus though, there’s still much to celebrate! With the support of Oktoberfest fans, Brat Haus was able to raise $2,500 to benefit the local ALS Association of Arizona Chapter.
“The ALS Association of Arizona Chapter is a charity that is very special to us at Brat Haus. They’re doing great things to help the fight against ALS by supporting our local community members. It’s our honor to give back and do our part to help,” said Dave Andrea, owner, Brat Haus.
Celebrated since 1810, Oktoberfest is an annual celebration of Bavarian culture. This year, the Brat Haus Oktoberfest included a festival style event featuring a bad ass beard contest, brat eating and stein holding contests, live Polka music, beer garden games, and an amazing lineup of food on Saturday, September 19th. The festivities continued through Saturday, October 17th with a finale event and check presentation ceremony.
About the ALS Association of Arizona Chapter
The Arizona Chapter was founded in 1991 to serve the needs of those living with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and their caregivers. The ALS Association is the only national not-for-profit health organization dedicated solely to the fight against ALS. The ALS Association covers all the bases: research, patient and community services, public education, and advocacy in providing help and hope to those facing the disease.
The Arizona Chapter focuses primarily on helping local patients and families live with ALS while the National Office focuses primarily on research and advocacy. The Chapter supports the National Office through revenue sharing and research contributions. The National Office supports the Chapters by providing up-to-date information and materials.
