Fall is a popular time of year for beer festivals and one of the top beer festivals in the United States takes place right after the end of summer, over Labor Day weekend. It’s the Brewmasters Craft Beer Festival, held in Galveston, Texas and scheduled for August 31- September 2, 2018.
This year marks the 9th occasion of the Brewmasters Craft Beer Festival. Selected among the top beer festivals in the United States by USA Today, this festival runs for three days and features hundreds of craft beers, delicious food, live music, and much more. Clifton McDerby, Executive Director of Food & Vine Time Productions, the organization responsible for the event, says the festival is different because it involves not just tasting beer, but learning as well.
“We have always focused on craft beer education, making sure that everyone who comes to this event can not only experience the widest selection of craft beers available at any Texas festival, but learn something from the craft masters themselves. Intimately, we create a learning experience with immersion into the latest trends while attendees get the opportunity to taste and learn at the same time,” McDerby explained.
Here is a sampling of the events scheduled for this year’s festival:
- Nach-Yo Ordinary Tequila Tasting- Start your festival off with this Friday, August 31 event, highlighting high quality tequilas, nachos, and lots of salt
- Texas Brewery Tasting Tour- This event, scheduled for Saturday afternoon, September 1, is perfect for those who want to sample some of the best beer brewed in Texas
- BrewHaHa Grand Tasting- Scheduled for Saturday, this is considered the main event at Brewmasters Craft Beer Festival. Guests will enjoy hundreds of beers including special “Taste it First” selections, never before offered elsewhere.
- Brew-B-Que- This event wraps up the festivities on Sunday, September 2 and features smoked meats and, of course, specially selected beers to wash it down.
Brewmasters Craft Beer Festival is one of the largest beer festivals in the nation and one of the many cool things about the event is that you can purchase tickets separately to the specific events you wish to attend.
