Summer, 2018 is almost over. Often a time of transition as kids and college students head back to school, the end of summer is also the beginning of a new season, one that is most often associated with beer. That season is, of course, the fall and the occasion is marked with celebration on Galveston Island as the 9th annual Brewmasters Craft Beer Festival readies for another run, with hundreds of beers to select from and a chance to win complimentary tickets (keep reading) for this weekend event scheduled for Friday, August 31 through Sunday, September 2, 2018.
What’s in Store
Brewmaster’s Craft Beer Festival is one of the largest and best beer festivals in the United States. The event takes place at Moody Gardens, the attraction known for its highly visible pyramid structure that greets tourists to Galveston Island. This year’s Brewmaster’s Craft Beer Festival consists of a series of events over three days. Here’s what the calendar holds:
Friday, August 31 (7pm to 10pm)- Start your Brewmaster’s Craft Beer Festival with attendance at the Nach- Yo Ordinary Tequila Tasting. Just like it sounds, this is a tasting event that showcases some of the finest tequilas around and includes nachos and cheese to wash it all down.
Saturday, September 1 (3pm to 6:30pm)- This is the main event at Brewmaster’s Craft Beer Festival and the one you don’t want to miss. Running for 3.5 hours, with early 2pm admission for VIP ticket holders, the Brewhaha is a craft beer love’s nirvana, with hundreds of beers available for tasting, including some hard-to-find beers rarely found anyplace else.
Sunday, September 2 (11:30am to 2:30am)- Wrap up your Brewmaster’s Craft Beer Festival weekend with Brew-B-Que, a family- friendly event. Festival goers will get to feast on Texas- style barbecue and other foods while sipping on their favorite brew and listening to live tunes.
The above is only a sampling of what is in store for this year’s Brewmaster’s Craft Beer Festival. Seminars will run throughout the Saturday Brewhaha and there will be several “Taste it First” selections, which are beers brewed specifically for the Brewmaster’s Craft Beer Festival and not offered any place else.
