Carl’s Jr. and Hardees, two widely recognized fast food restaurant chains, are introducing something new to their burger lineups- something that combines classic burger ingredients with the beverage that many would argue matches up better with a burger than any other. The new menu item is the Budweiser Beer Bacon Cheeseburger, available right now at participating locations.
This new burger features a charbroiled, grass- fed beef patty topped with Applewood smoked bacon, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, and Swiss cheese. Where Budweiser comes in is through the added sauce; a special hot cheese sauce made with Budweiser beer. Brad Haley, Chief Marketing Officer for Carl’s Jr. and Hardees, says the new burger is yet another indicator of his company’s penchant for innovation, not to mention a great burger for those who love the classic beer/burger combo.
“Carl’s Jr. has long been a pioneer in the QSR space, debuting quality breakthroughs like our 100 percent Black Angus beef Thickburgers® and our grass-fed, all-natural beef burgers, which are still unmatched by any other major fast food chain today,” said Haley. “Our new Budweiser Beer Cheese Bacon Burger combines the best of what we do with Budweiser beer cheese sauce, Applewood-smoked bacon and caramelized onions on a charbroiled, grass-fed, all-natural beef patty. It really is a beer and burger lover’s dream come true.”
Most every beer lover enjoys a cold one as a side companion to a great burger, so this Carl’s Jr./Hardees concept is certainly a good idea. But before anyone gets too excited, please be reminded that these fast food chains are not offering actual beer to drink with the burger. The beer is only an ingredient in the cheese sauce and furthermore, since the sauce is heated, there is no chance for any alcohol- save an unnoticeable trace- to make its way from the sauce into your body. If you want the full beer/burger experience, you will need to order your food to go and take it back to the safe confines of home.
The new Budweiser Beer Cheese Bacon Burger will be available in three options: Single patty, Double patty, and 100 percent Black Angus beef, 1/3-lb. Thickburger. Those who want the full fast- food meal can order a combo with fries and a drink. There is no telling whether this new burger will be around for long, so if your interest is piqued, be sure to visit a Carl’s Jr. or Hardees location near you very soon.
