It seems that everything nowadays has a national “day” of celebration. Remember the time when all we had was Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, and a few other special days honoring the important people in our lives? Well, the calendar has expanded and even distilled spirits now claim their special day of “honor.” In a short time, we celebrate one such day: a day dedicated to the agave plant and the hardworking men and women who labor each day to bring quality Mexican spirits into our homes. It’s National Tequila Day, and it’s coming your way July 24, 2015.
Celebrate with a Drink
The best way to honor National Tequila Day is with a mixed drink and Great Beer Now’s friends at Leprechaun Cider have a drink bound to put a smile on your face brighter than that of an Irishman who just captured one of these legendary creatures and snagged two pots of gold. The drink combines Leprechaun’s sparkling cider with premium tequila for a delicious and memorable treat.
Here is the recipe for a Leprechaun Margarita:
- 1.5 oz. tequila
- 0.5 oz. agave nectar
- 1 oz. fresh lime juice
- 5 oz. Leprechaun Premium Hard Cider
Combine the first three ingredients with ice and shake. Then, strain into a margarita glass, add the cider, and serve.
Celebrate Fine Liquor and Cider
National Tequila Day is the perfect excuse for trying a new drink.
