Boston’s Marathon is now in its 122nd year and Boston Beer, maker of all things Sam Adams, is back with its celebratory Boston 26.2 Brew, a beer that refreshes after an intense workout and also gives back to the community.
Boston 26.2 Brew derives its name, of course, from the number of miles in an official marathon. It’s a Gose style beer, light in body, and lower in alcohol than average, weighing in at just 4.5 percent alcohol by volume. This makes it ideal as a post- marathon means for celebration.
Samuel Adams Boston 26.2 Brew is a great refreshment choice for another reason: It gives back. Each year since 2013, Boston Beer has donated profits from sales of 26.2 Brew to charitable foundations. This year’s recipient is the Spaulding Rehabilitation Center for Adaptive Sports. This charitable operation helps those with disabilities find activities to suit their capabilities and interests. The organization helps people with injuries continue to enjoy the sports they love.
Boston 26.2 Brew will be available in bottled form for the first time this year, with limited distribution directly from the Samuel Adams Boston Brewery starting on April 11, 2018. The beer will be available in draft at bars, restaurants, and related events throughout the New England area. Production is limited, so thirsty guests need to make sure to seek it out while supplies last.
The Boston Marathon has been an annual tradition since 1897. Samuel Adams 26.2 Boston Brew has been part of this tradition for many years and its one of the few beers brewed to support an important charitable cause. Enjoy 26.2 Boston Brew, and help deserving men, women, and children forget about their injuries and participate in sports through the Spaulding Rehabilitation Center for Adaptive Sports.
