Tampa, Florida’s Cigar City Brewing, one of the nation’s best known craft breweries and a member of the CANarchy collective, has announced it will expand into another state. The new territory is the Buckeye State of Ohio where Cigar City plans to distribute starting in January, 2019.
Cigar City will partner with Superior Beverage Group to bring its beers to the Cleveland and Columbus markets. NOW Beverage will cover Toledo while Bonbright Distributors will cover Dayton. And in Cincinnati, Cigar City beer will be delivered by Stagnaro Distributing.
Neil Callaghan from Cigar City Brewing says the move to Ohio is one that has been on the radar for a long time and will now be reality.
“We couldn’t be happier to bring our Florida-inspired beers to the Buckeye State,” said Callaghan. “We’ve had our sights set on Ohio for quite a while and now that we’ve found the best wholesalers in the state, we’re ready to join the Ohio craft beer community. With their help and the help of our CANarchy brothers and sisters, we’ll be able to get the freshest, highest quality beer possible into Ohioans’ snifters and pint glasses.”
Jason Edwards, Superior Beverage Group’s Senior Vice President of Business Development, says the addition of Cigar City Brewing to his company’s distribution network is great news for the business, and Buckeye state craft beer fans.
“Superior Beverage Group is proud to represent Cigar City Brewing in our territory. The quality and portfolio that they are bringing to our state will truly be appreciated and loved by Ohio residents. Our team is dedicated to enhancing business for our customers and trading partners with this great addition to our portfolio.”
