Milford, Connecticut, is about to introduce a new tour, one that is bound to be a hit with residents and tourists alike. It’s a craft beer tour that is set to launch for the first time on Saturday, July 6, 2019.
Connecticut Beer Tours, the Connecticut Brewers Guild, and Discover Milford are behind this new service offering and the way it works is simple, not to mention low in price for consumers. For a cost of only $15, a shuttle bus will take you around to area breweries and other establishments. Michelle Stanish, co- owner of Connecticut Beer Tours, says the new service is designed for those who want to sample area beer and food and also want to stay safe.
“You do the drinking, and we’ll do the driving,” said Stanish. “That’s the idea behind the Milford Craft Beer Tour, which officially launches on Saturday (July 6, 2019).”
The new beer tour has three different sessions. One starts at 12:00pm, the next at 12:30pm, and the last at 1:00pm. All of the tours begin at SBC Restaurant, located at 33 New Haven Ave. in Milford. The next two stops are Tribus Brewing and Milford Brewing. The cost of the tour includes a beer at each of the two breweries plus 25 percent off your entire tab at SBC Restaurant.
Julie Nash, Milford’s economic development director, says the new tour offering is an excellent way to get to know the craft beer offered in the city and support local business.
“This whole idea is to promote great-tasting, locally brewed craft beer and Milford-based craft breweries,” said Nash. “With two craft breweries already operating in the city, and one more hopefully coming online just months from now, we’re happy to have a tour of our own operating in Milford.”
