Great craft beer isn’t difficult to track down. With over 5,000 operating craft breweries in the United States, freshly brewed, small batch craft beer is often just minutes away, no matter where you reside. The craft beer revolution has brought with it seemingly infinite choices and the insurgency shows no real signs of ending anytime soon.
Finding beer at a brewery or beverage store is one thing, but it’s always nice to visit a beer bar- a place where wide selections of craft beer flow freely and connoisseurs can sample different beers in the company of friends. To help uncover these often hidden gems, CraftBeer.com and the Brewers Association conducted their annual Great American Beer Bars competition- a survey that asks its readers to identify the best beer bar in each state. Julia Herz, publisher of Craftbeer.com explains:
“CraftBeer.com readers understand what sets a beer bar apart and have continually shown up since 2012 to recommend and praise their favorite spots,” said Herz. “With more than 7,000 votes cast, we are excited to announce this year’s winners and proud to welcome back twenty-one (41%) 2016 winners to the list – a sign that craft beer bars, now more than ever, are committed to their patrons.”
How did the survey work? CraftBeer.com asked its readers to nominate what they felt was the best craft beer bar in their state and then fill out a short survey explaining why it stands out in such a crowded industry, paying attention to such qualities as atmosphere, staff, beer selection, and special events. In total, the Great American Beer Bars Competition received more than 7,000 votes from craft beer fans across the country. Here are the results, in infographic form:
