Crying Eagle Brewing, a Lake Charles, Louisiana craft beer leader is pleased to announce its foray into the world of New England style IPA. The new release is called Things Unsettled Hazy IPA, a beer featuring flavors of tropical fruit, citrus peel, and a touch of dankness for all- around hazy IPA goodness that is certain to please fans of the style.
Eric Avery, Crying Eagle Brewing President, says the name Things Unsettled was selected because it represents the unique competitive pressures the brewery felt when it first hit the scene, as well as the physical properties of the beer itself.
“Things Unsettled (the name) draws from our early struggles against national brands, as well as the unsettled nature of hazy beers,” said Avery.
Along with the beers catchy title, Things Unsettled also has an interesting package design. Created by Tilt of Baton Rouge, the design invokes images of the arcade games of yesteryear, featuring a streetscape of New Orleans as a backdrop and the Crying Eagle fighter delivering a powerful hop blast toward its opponent.
Crying Eagle Marketing Manager Krickett Racca says the packaging and branding of the beer truly exemplify the creative energies and talents of the collaboration team.
“Collaborating on this design, and the branding material for this beer has been extremely fun. It began with a crowdsourcing campaign to help name the beer. Once the name was selected and the 16-bit theme was in place, we began tapping into our inner gamer and speaking in cheesy one-liners.” said Racca.
Things Unsettled is presently available at the Crying Eagle Taproom, 1165 McNeese St., Lake Charles, Louisiana. It will be packaged and distributed in cans and on tap to stores and restaurants beginning August 20, 2019.
