Deep Ellum Brewing of Dallas, Texas just announced its foray into the hazy IPA market with the release of a new beer, Manic Confidence. Billed as being a “hazy enough” IPA, Manic Confidence will be distributed across the state of Texas starting this month.
Manic Confidence is a beer that claims to serve up maniacal portions of hop flavor. The hop bill on this beer is six varieties strong: Citra, Comet, Enigma, Galaxy, Idaho 7, and Strata invade the palate and blend in just the right way for long- lasting satisfaction that will make you yearn for another serving.
Deep Ellum brewer Brian Morris says this new beer was brewed as a tribute to hoppy excess.
“When building Manic Confidence we knew we had to go into it with two things in mind – embodying the mentality that has gotten us to where we’re at as a brewery, and using waaaaay more hops in a beer than we ever have”, said Morris. You can even see our manic nature as a brewery in the hops that we featured in this beer. Manic Confidence has an incredible tropical fruit profile of aromas and flavors including pineapple, mango, starburst candy and white gummy bear,” Morris added.
Deep Ellum Marketing Manager Maegan Eason says the beer’s name was suggested by the brewery’s founder during a meeting.
“In a brewery meeting, someone referred to the Deep Ellum brand as ‘cocky,’ and our Founder, John Reardon, said, ‘we’re not cocky. We’re manic confident,” said Eason.
Manic Confidence is a juicy brew with a moderate alcohol level of 6.5 percent by volume and a surprisingly low bitterness level of only 25 IBU. You can find Manic Confidence right now at the original Deep Ellum Dallas Taproom or the Funkytown Fermatorium in Fort Worth . It’s on draft around the Dalla/Ft. Worth area and will be distributed in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans starting March 1.
