
Craft beer fans nationwide know all about Deschutes Brewery. Oregon’s largest brewer of craft suds, Deschutes distributes its beer to more than half of the U.S. states, plus parts of western Canada and this summer/fall, Deschutes will once again bring its crafted suds to thirsty fans in a different manner as the Street Pub Tour 2017 kicks into gear.
What is the Street Pub Tour? Well, it is a combination party and charitable fundraising effort. Deschutes brings its 400 foot “pop- up pub” to a handful of American cities, tapping its beloved brew and partnering with local non- profit organizations in each city to raise money and awareness for important causes. This year, Deschutes is taking its mission to a new level, inviting three partners who share Deschutes goals for sustainability, philanthrophy, and positive corporate culture. These new partners include Hydro Flask, Humm Kombucha and KEEN Footwear, three companies working hard to make the world a better place.
Joey Pleich, Deschutes Brewery’s field marketing manager, is excited about this year’s Street Pub Tour and the opportunities it presents.
“All of the communities where we have taken Street Pub have responded with overwhelming support. With more than 140,000 in attendance at over seven events last year, we knew it was time to take it to the next level. This year, the event will feature even more taps at new bar locations, the Deschutes ‘Worth Sharing Challenge’ (head-to-head team competitions), some incredible street artists and our new title partners all working together toward one mission: elevate the community impact and raise even more dollars for deserving nonprofits!”
Who are the lucky locales for a Street Pub Tour visit in 2017? Here are the five selected cities and dates:
- Cincinnati, OH – June 24
- Roanoke, VA – July 15
- Milwaukee, WI – July 22
- Portland, OR – September 23
- Sacramento, CA – October 14
Deschutes Street Pub Tour will serve popular favorites such as Mirror Pond Pale Ale, Black Butte Porter, Fresh Squeezed IPA and other, less well distributed but equally delicious Deschutes beers from its Reserve Series. Food will be served, too, with Deschutes’ corporate executive chef, Jeff Usinowicz, teaming up with local chefs in each selected city, creating great eats that pair well with Deschutes beer.
And what about the three partners? They will be actively participating at each location, demonstrating products and sponsoring activities perfect for the entire family:
- Hydro Flask will operate its Hydration Station, an interactive booth with beer pong and prizes, including a chance to win Hydro Flask’s 22 oz. Tumbler.
- Humm Kombucha will showcase a Creation Station, complete with art projects and other activities designed to get you and your family thinking creatively.
- KEEN Footwear will present an Activism Center and Lounge; a photo booth; interactive games; and raffles for shoes.
Deschutes Brewery has raised over $835,000 at its Street Pub Tours over the past three years and with Hydro Flask, Humm Kombucha, and KEEN Footwear on board, the possibilities for 2017 are truly endless.
