July 1, 2014 is an important day for residents of Wisconsin. Oregon’s Deschutes Brewery, one of the nation’s ten largest craft breweries, is now distributing products to the Badger state. In a matter of days, Deschutes beer will start to show up in stores, taverns, and restaurants as the distributer, Wirtz beverage, makes its way across the state.
To help promote the brand and get to know the people of Wisconsin, Deschutes Brewery has several events planned across the state, ranging from meet and greet events to beer dinners and more. The fun begins on July 15, 2014 and continues through July 19, 2014.

A collaborative effort with Great Dane Pub & Brewing Co., Hats Off to Homebrewers celebrates the art of homemade beer. Guests can talk to the staff and samplesix different beers from a commemorative snifter with a full pour at the end. Homebrewers will receive clone recipe cards and even some whole hop Cascades (while supplies last) to use with your next homebrewing adventure. Milwaukee gets a Hats Off to Homebrewers Event of its own, this one co- hosted by Northern Brewer Homebrew Supply and Deschutes Brewery. Guests will be treated to four beer samples, served in a commemorative snifter along with a full pour at the end. Homebrewers will receive clone recipe cards and bag of whole hop Cascades (while supplies last) to use in your next homebrew (supplies are limited). Other fun includes gourmet tacos from Belair Cantina, a Q&A session with former WI resident & Deschutes Brewery Assistant Brewmaster along with Ryan Schmiege and Kyle Ciske, brewer-in-residence at Northern Brewer. This beer/food pairing includes four Deschutes beers matched with four small plates of food from the talented chefs at Goodkind. Deschutes personnel will be present to answer questions and talk about beer.

Event: Deschutes Brewery Beer Dinner

This event is the full- fledged beer and food shebang! Deschutes will present four different beers, each carefully matched with an equally delicious course of food from appetizer through dessert. Food will be provided by Fox Valley Farms and guests will be treated to Deschutes special release beer, the 26th anniversary Black Butte XXVI, an Imperial Porter. Event: 26 x 26 Birthday Bash with Deschutes Brewery
Location: The Sugar Maple, 441 E. Lincoln Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53207
Deschutes Brewery has been around for 26 years and, coincidentally, the state of Wisconsin happens to be the 26th state to distribute Deschutes beer. What better way to celebrate the happy occasion than with a birthday party! The festivities will include food served from a local food truck with the option to try any of six different foods paired with one of six different Deschutes beers, including the limited anniversary Imperial porter, Black Butte XXVI. A silent auction will take place at the event with works from local artists sold to the highest bidder, benefitting the Fernwood Montessori School. Live music will round out the evening of entertainment, beer, ad charity.

Event: River Cleanup Work Party with Deschutes Brewery
Location: Meaux Park, 1904 W Villard Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53209
A great way to celebrate beer and cleanliness, the River Cleanup Work Party is a joint effort between Deschutes Brewery and Milwaukee Riverkeeper to pick up trash and restore natural beauty. The reward for your efforts will be an post- cleanup party celebration right by the banks of the newly pristine currents, with Deschutes beer and food by the Rumpus Room. Saturday, July 19, 8 pm
Event: Beerlesque: Tastings And Tassels! With Deschutes Brewery
Location: The Hotel Foster, 2028 E North Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53202
The final event in the five- day Deschutes celebration takes place at Milwaukee’s Hotel Foster. It will be an evening of great entertainment with MC Naughty Pierre, famous featured performers Foxy Tann and the Wham Bams, and local star, Sarah Jacobson. Each of the burlesque acts will feature a Deschutes Brewery beer and best of all, there is no admission fee! It’s a great way to wrap up the celebration and welcome Deschutes Brewery to the Badger state.
