Illinois- grown DESTIHL®Brewery, one of the state’s best- known exports, has announced two new business partnerships that will bring its beers to a larger cross- section of residents in its home state. Lakeshore Beverage will distribute Destihl beer throughout the Bloomington Illinois area along with nearby cities like Pontiac, Lincoln, and Ottawa, Illinois. Skeff Distributing will be responsible for introducing Destihl Beer to areas in and surrounding Decatur, Champaign- Urbana, and Springfield, Illinois.
Destihl beer is already distributed to several other states and it may surprise fans to learn that the Normal, Illinois based brewery has so many untapped markets in its own home state. It really was a matter of establishing distribution deals that made sense for all parties involved and Destihl co- founder and CEO Matt Potts says that, with Lakeshore Beverage and Skeff Distributing, his company has found the right business partners.
“Our new partnerships with Lakeshore Beverage and Skeff Distributing are an awesome opportunity, enabling us to meet demand in our hometown and other local markets. Both of these new distributors have a great track record of growing brands by providing fantastic customer service to a breadth of accounts,” said Potts.
Destihl’s state of the art production facility in Normal, Illinois is designed for growth. The large capacity and commitment to quality have enabled Destihl beer to continue to grow at a fast clip during a time when growth rates in the craft beer industry have slowed overall.
“Our larger brewery has allowed us to grow beer wholesales nationally by an average annual rate of 52% (or 42% annually by volume) since opening, and we are still holding strong in 2019,” said Potts. “Maintaining growth at several times the craft beer industry growth rate is very challenging in this increasingly competitive market, but we continue to achieve growth with quality, innovative brands and by getting stronger in both our national and regional markets,” Potts added.
Included in the new distribution are Destihl Deadhead IPA series offerings, Destihl Wild Sour Series, and Destihl core brands like Moonjumper Milk Stout, Weissenheimer Hefeweizen, Normal Pils, Vertex IPA, and others. The distribution deal is effective right now, so look for these new beers in Illinois beverage stores and on draft in places where fine craft beer is sold.
