Chicago’s Dovetail Brewing has quickly made a name for itself as a great place to hang out and drink delicious craft beer. The small but growing establishment keeps adding to its seasonal lineup and for the cooler months ahead, Dovetail has released a new Dunkelweizen, a classic German style beer that Dovetail co- owner Hagen Dost says is a darker take on its own hefeweizen and is certain to warm the heart and satisfy the soul during this chilly time of year.
“Our Dunkelweizen is a winter version of our Hefeweizen that is darker in color and features rich chocolate and roast notes in addition to the clove and banana that are traditional Hefeweizen characteristics,” said Dost. “Dunkelweizen is a heartier version of Hefeweizen that is refreshing without being too robust and filling. It pairs well with the heartier foods of late fall and winter.”
Dovetail Dunkelweizen is brown in color with session- like statistics. The beer weighs in at 5.1% alcohol by volume and has 16 of bitterness. The beer is available on tap, right now, at the Dovetail Brewery taproom located at 1800 W. Belle Plain Ave., Chicago, Illinois.
