Ask any person to name a popular brand of stout and the first word that will fly out of most mouths is Guinness. The Irish dry stout brand has been around since 1759 and is the top selling stout worldwide by far. Now, Guinness is offering something new for the first time: An alcohol- free version of original Guinness. It is aptly named Guinness Zero and it’s available in places where traditional Guinness is sold.
Dark and Sweeter
Guinness Zero pours out dark and creamy. It utilizes the same nitro widget as original canned Guinness. It is also packaged in the same size can, which is 14.9 ounces.
This alcohol-free version of Guinness tastes fairly similar to the original, with roasted notes and a touch of cold brew coffee. It is less bitter than regular Guinness and it is thus easier to drink. It would match up well with a sweet, chocolate or coffee flavored dessert.
Alcohol Free, Guilt Free
Lots of breweries are offering alcohol- free beer, most of them for the first time. There are even some breweries that are producing alcohol- free beers exclusively. Given this rise in popularity of alcohol- free beer, it isn’t too surprising that Guinness jumped on the bandwagon and decided to brew an alcohol- free beer of its own.
What fans of Guinness will like best about this no- alcohol version is that it does taste like the original. You can easily tell it’s Guinness once you take the first sip, as the creamy, roasty, nitro liquid hits your taste buds. At the same time, you will notice that it’s sweeter than the regular version. This is the first thing I noticed when I tried it. I know some people who shun regular Guinness because of its bitterness. Guinness Zero leans toward the sweet side.
Another reason to like Guinness Zero? Well, if you’re counting calories and carbs, you will be happy to know that both are low enough that you can enjoy a can or two without guilt. A full 14.9 ounce Guinness Zero has only 70 calories and about 16 grams of carbs. These numbers are low enough to fit within the limits of most low- carb diets. The calories are significantly less that that of regular Guinness and while the carbs are slightly higher, they are still reasonable.
Get Your Guinness Zero
Guinness Zero is yet another example of an alcohol- free beer that is tasty and agreeable enough to recommend. Alcohol- free beer is vastly improved compared to the “near beer” of the past and Guinness Zero certainly packs a good deal of flavor for a product with no alcohol and reasonably low levels of carbs and calories.
Dry January is a popular time for consumers to give up booze and Guinness Zero makes a good choice for those who have pledged to not drink any alcohol for 31 days. Seek it out where Guinness products are sold, and taste for yourself how good alcohol- free beer can be.

There’s so many different types of beer nowadays. Guiness zero sounds like a winner.
Great suggestion for dry January. The Guinness Zero looks like the perfect choice for staying the dry January course while still enjoying a beer!
I am not a big drinker, but this sounds like something my step-dad would really enjoy so I will pass this article onto him!
I am not much of a beer drinker but Guinness Zero sounds like a great one to try! Not only does it have low calories but I like my drinks more on the sweeter side!

Interesting! Guinness is one of my husband’s favorites. I even had it when visiting Dublin even though I don’t usually drink beer. Having an alcohol-free version is awesome for those who want the taste without the alcohol.
I wasn’t familiar with this beer, or dry January. It is interesting to read about both.
