Five Wives Canned Cocktails Offer Hassle- Free Refreshment

Five Wives Vodka Soda is the first of these beverages I sampled. It is a packaged in a slender can containing 12 oz. (355 ml) of beverage with 7 percent alcohol by volume. The can depicts the Five Wives logo, front and center. The artwork is quite cool. It looks like a sticker and I immediately ran my fingers over the surface, just to see if there was something to peel off.

Five Wives Moscow Mule has a similar can design and size. The only real difference, besides the flavor, is that the Moscow Mule contains 10 percent alcohol by volume. Both beverages are made with Five Wives Vodka and both are gluten- free.

Refreshment

Describing these two canned cocktails, the first word that comes to mind is refreshing! The Vodka Soda is bubbly, fresh, and clean with the taste of limes and vodka. It is somewhat like a light margarita, but much smoother and more thirst- quenching. I found that it matched perfectly with an afternoon on my back porch, by my pool.

The Moscow Mule, while also refreshing, is a little more edgy. It features the delicious flavor of ginger, with just a touch of lime and, of course, Five Wives Vodka. Ogden’s Own Distillery blends Chinese and Indian ginger to create this spicy beverage, the type of drink that would match well with a quiet evening with your favorite book in hand or a lively, festive occasion with friends.

Five Wives Vodka Soda and Moscow Mule are one of the latest offerings from distilleries that have decided to capitalize on the trend toward canned cocktails. The Vodka Soda is great for its refreshing character and it is certainly smoother and the more agreeable of the two.

Are canned cocktails a trend that will last? I will answer in the affirmative. I love beer most, but cocktails are a close second and I love anything that makes drinking my favorite cocktail more convenient.
