Local breweries usually stay local until they get on solid footing, then they gradually distribute products to larger markets, often in adjacent states. But some breweries make a larger leap into markets further away from the home base, and that is exactly what is about to happen to Florida’s M.I.A. Beer Company as it expands distribution to Ohio through a partnership with Cavalier Distributing.
Starting on December 5, M.I.A. will begin distributing its beers to the Buckeye state, focusing first on the southwestern part of Ohio, including the Dayton and Cincinnati areas. As time progresses and sales grow, there is an excellent chance that M.I.A Beer will make its way to retailers, restaurants, and taverns in other parts of the state. M.I.A. Beer co- owner Eddie Leon says the expansion to Ohio is great for vacationers and others who have grown fond of M.I.A beer but couldn’t drink it except when traveling.
“M.I.A. is excited to bring our line of Miami-inspired beers to Ohio. We have many Ohio vacationers who have discovered us, and now, they can enjoy a little taste of vacation at home,” said Leon.
M.I.A. Beer Company will begin distribution to Ohio with three of its popular styles: Miami Weiss Hefeweizen, Mega Mix Pale Ale, and Tourist Trappe Belgian Tripel. Seasonal and special/limited release beers will make their way north as well with Cavalier Distributing handling the marketing and deliveries, fulfilling its partnership duties.
Distributing beer to new markets is often the goal of any new brewery and the states in closest proximity are usually the first places to be added to a brewery’s footprint. M.I.A. Beer Company, opened only a short time ago in 2015, has leaped over several states in its quest for expansion, landing squarely in the state of Ohio for its first sales outside of Florida. Look for this new beer in the Dayton, Cincinnati, and nearby areas of southwestern Ohio starting on December 5, 2016 and enjoy some of Florida’s finest craft beer, right here in the Midwest.
