Alaska, home to the highest point in North America and a bastion for those wanting to escape crowds and get back to nature, is going to be known for an even more impressive selection of beer very soon when a highly respected Michigan brewery begins distribution in the Last Frontier.
Founders Brewing, one of the most highly regarded breweries on the planet, is ready to begin distribution to Alaska in early May, 2017. Founders just announced a partnership with Odom Corp. and will begin selling its annual, seasonal, specialty, and barrel- aged beers in Alaska in a few weeks. Founders CEO Mike Stevens says the decision to launch his company’s award winning beers in America’s largest state was an easy one, as Alaska and its people share much in common with their Great Lakes cousin to the south.
“The pioneering spirit of Alaska speaks to our brand, our company and its history,” said Stevens. “We look forward to bringing our beers to this great state and building connections with the rich craft scene found there. When considering Alaska it seemed only obvious to us that we would enter with our great partners of the Pacific Northwest, Odom Corp., and we look forward to spreading the Founders word to the only state with more coastline than our home state of Michigan.”
Odom Corp. will handle statewide distribution, utilizing warehouses in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau. The beer will begin shipping from Michigan to Alaska starting in April for retail sale beginning the week of May 8. The addition of Alaska will bring Founders Brewing distribution footprint to 46 states, making it one of the most widely distributed craft beers in the United States.
To celebrate its arrival in Alaska, Founders Brewing has several launch parties planned. To see a list of events, visit online at foundersbrewing.com/events. To keep up with Founders Brewing on social media, follow on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
No Alaska events are shown. When? Where? Just Anchorage or also Fairbanks?
Follow the link in the article above, to take you to the events page, where you can filter by state. At last check, I noticed that Founders did not yet have the Alaska events updated to the page. I recommend checking back periodically- they will show up as the week of May 8 draws closer.
