Today is International Beer Day, a day marked by celebrations of malt beverages throughout the world. Local taverns, breweries, and restaurants are getting in on the action with special events to commemorate the beer industry and its importance. Hotels are also taking part, and Four Points has a special series of events planned across the globe over the next few weeks as Four Points Best Brews Around the World kicks into action.
Four Points, as many beer lovers and frequent travelers are already aware, features a “Best Brew” at each of its hotel locations. This Best Brew is a specially selected beer that is popular in each specific location and that is judged to accurately reflect local tastes and culture. In keeping with the beer- centric theme of Four Points, the Best Brews Around the World will offer a competition at each of the spotlighted locations, with two different beers competing for the title of Best Brew. The winner will not only gain bragging rights, but will also gain “Best Brew” status, earning the right to be featured on tap at that specific hotel location. Audience members are among those who will be tapped to help crown the champion at each event, so everyone can join in the fun.
Here are the six locations taking part in Four Points Best Brews Around the World:
- August 3, 2017 – Four Points Midtown Manhattan West (USA)
- August 9, 2017 – Four Points Cancun Centro (Mexico)
- August 23, 2017 – Four Points Kelowna (Canada)
- September 13, 2017 – Four Points Melbourne Docklands (Australia)
- September 20, 2017 – Four Points Nairobi Hurlingham (Kenya)
- October 2017 – Four Points Barcelona Diagonal (Spain)
Yesterday’s competition at Four Points Manhattan Midtown West is already in the history books. Peekskill Brewery and LIC Beer Project put their best beers forward with LIC Beer Project’s Higher Burnin’ IPA coming out on top. This tasty India Pale Ale will now be the featured Best Beer at this Four Points location.
Four Points Vice President and Global Brand Manager Callette Neilsen says the search for the perfect brew and the Four Points emphasis on local craft beer were the inspiration behind this international event.
