Denver’s Great American Beer Festival is the premier beer festival in the United States. Held each year at the Colorado Convention Center, this festival is the one that most beer lovers strive to attend at least once in their lifetime. It’s not only a great place to sample beer, it’s also great for the attending brewers who are there to showcase their best beers and hopefully win a Gold, Silver, or Bronze medal in the process.
For the past two years, the ugly reality of COVID-19 prevented the festival from taking place. In 2022, it is back on schedule and will take place From Thursday, October 6, 2022 through Saturday, October 8, 2022.
Tickets are Awaiting
Great American Beer Festival offers three different sessions to the public. Tickets usually sell out in a matter of hours, sometimes even less. Therefore, you need to take action quickly when the tickets go on sale. This year, the sale dates and times are:
Tuesday, July 12 from 10am Mountain Time through July 13 at 8am Mountain Time. This special session is reserved for members of the American Homebrewers Association and the Brewers Association.
Wednesday, July 13 at 10am Mountain Time. This is when tickets will be available to the general public. They will remain on sale until all tickets are sold out.
Available Sessions
General sessions are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (October 6, 7, and 8, 2022) from 5:30pm to 10pm each day.
Members only session is on Saturday, October 8, from 12pm to 4pm. Again, you need to me a member of the American Homebrewers Association or the Brewers Association to attend this exclusive session.
For the Love of Beer
The Great American Beer Festival is a beer event not to miss. There is no other event like it in the United States. It’s the perfect way to sample beer from across the nation, all available in a single place.
As someone who has attended this event for more than ten years, I can attest to its greatness. There is nothing like walking into the Colorado Convention Center, getting your souvenir glass, and then walking from booth to booth, tasting and enjoying some of the best beer brewed in these United States.
As for the sessions you choose to attend, it’s a matter of preference, but the Saturday session is the best one. The reason I say that is because at this point, the awards ceremony is complete and the Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal winners have been named. The winning beers will be right there, waiting for you to sample. Many of them run out quickly, so it is best to have a strategy Choose the ones you most want to try, and then head directly to the booths.
Bear in mind that Saturday is also the most intense session. If you prefer a session with the potential for shorter lines at each booth, then Thursday is your best bet.

Awww…I’m no beer enthusiast but it sounds like a fun event to be at. We used to play (as a band) for Oktoberfests in the Philippines…does that count?
