Goodwood Brewing, the Louisville, Kentucky brewery that has made a name for itself as a brewer of award- winning, wood- accented beer, is about to extend its reach ever further with a distribution deal that will bring its beers to North Carolina. Partnering with Freedom Beverage Company, Goodwood Brewing beer will make its way across the Tar Heel state.
Ted Mitzlaff, Goodwood Brewing CEO, says his brewery has witnessed a good deal of success in neighboring states and so it makes sense to expand into the place that is arguably the most craft- centric of all the southeastern states.
“North Carolina is the craft beer hub of the east coast. We have enjoyed tremendous success in the Boarder states of VA, SC and TN,” says Mitzlaff. “Freedom Beverage’s focus on high end craft makes them an ideal market partner, and we look forward to sharing Goodwood with the great people of North Carolina,” Mitzlaff added.
Jeff York, Beer Brand Manager for Freedom Beverage, says the partnership is a perfect fit for his company and he likes the unique flavors and brewing processes that set Goodwood beers apart from most others.
“We are very excited to partner with Goodwood Brewing Company to offer distribution for the vast majority of the state of NC”, said York. “It is important to us at Freedom to offer our customers only the best beer & wine from all over the world. Goodwood offers uniquely different craft beers to our portfolio with their commitment to making beer that is touched by wood at some point in the brewing process. We are eager to showcase the Goodwood brand and look forward to the success this synergy between our two companies will generate,” York continued.
Set to launch into North Carolina are such Goodwood staples as Hemp Gose, Louisville Lager, Walnut Brown Ale, Spruce Tip IPA, Bourbon Barrel Ale, APA, Goodwood IPA, El Gozador, and Bourbon Barrel Stout.
