Beer festivals are one of life’s greatest pleasures. They come in different sizes and themes, but the most memorable are often those that encompass a large variety of styles from hundreds of breweries, all in a single venue. And the granddaddy of all beer festivals in the United States is the Great American Beer Festival, scheduled for Thursday, September 21 through Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Colorado Convention Center (see below for ticket info).
Beer Options Galore
The Great American Beer Festival stays true to its name. It isn’t just a festival in America, it is a beer festival authored by America. All the beers featured at the Great American Beer Festival are American- brewed, with entries representing every state in the United States.
Guests can expect to discover thousands of beers, with samples of every style imaginable. You can spend time sipping on some of your favorite brands, or venture from booth to booth, sampling beer from breweries you haven’t heard of previously.
With the Great American Beer Festival, guests can select among the three sessions or, for even more fun, attend all three. Each of the daily sessions, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, runs from 5:30pm to 10pm.
Which Beer is Best?
The Great American Beer Festival would be excellent enough if it was a tasting festival and nothing more. But this festival goes well beyond mere tasting. It is also a competition, with Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals awarded among approximately 100 style categories. More than 10,000 beers were entered into last year’s Great American Beer Festival competition, and this year will likely witness a similar number.
Winners are selected by a panel of tasting experts, during a backdoor, blind tasting session. The winners are announced on Saturday morning, with most of the winning beers available for sampling during the Saturday evening session. This is one of the reasons why the Saturday session is so popular with attendees.
Get Your Tickets
With the popularity of the Great American Beer Festival, it is imperative that you get your tickets quickly. This year, the tickets will go on sale starting on July 12 at 10am Mountain Time. If you want to get tickets for exactly the sessions of your choosing, it is critical that you go online the moment the clock strikes 10am Mountain Time. Any small amount of hesitation could leave you in the cold; frustrated, ticketless, and forced to wait for another year and another opportunity.
America has hundreds of beer festivals large and small, but few can match the size and intensity of the Great American Beer Festival. We at Great Beer Now have been attending this amazing and memorable festival for many years, dating all the way back to the 1990’s when craft beer was still catching on with the public and the craft beer industry was relatively small. It’s a beer festival like no other and one you don’t want to miss. Be ready on July 12, 2023 at 10am to get your tickets to America’s best beer festival, the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado.
