Beer festivals are an experience to behold. Where else can you tap into so many different malt beverages and discover so many great beers that you would have otherwise never known existed? If you love beer festivals like I do, and you love discovering new brew, then you don’t want to miss the grandest beer festival in the United States, the Great American Beer Festival, scheduled for October 10 to October 12, 2024 in Denver, Colorado, with tickets going on sale starting July 17, 2024.
Sessions to Attend
The Great American Beer Festival is making a few changes in 2024, and one of the first changes veterans of the event will recognize is the number of available sessions. In the past, there were four sessions. This year, there will be three:
- Thursday, October 10, 5:30pm to 9:30pm
- Friday, October 11, 5:30pm to 9:30pm
- Saturday, October 12, from 12:00pm to 4:30pm
There will not be a Saturday evening session this year, so guests need to consider that when they purchase tickets.
More Beverage Options
As consumer preferences change, the Great American Beer Festival continues to respond. In the past, only malt beverages were allowed. Then, hard seltzer was added. This year, the expansion will continue, with Ready to Drink Cocktails added to the offerings for the first time, along with hard sodas and hard tea.
Tickets on Sale
Tickets to the Great American Beer Festival will go on sale this year on July 17, starting at 10:00am, Mountain Time. Response to the event is usually strong, so it is best not to procrastinate and be one of the first in line when the ticket sales begin.
Ch, Ch, Ch, Ch Changes!
Here at Great Beer Now, we look forward to the Great American Beer Festival every year. I’m not so sure I will be partaking in the ready to drink cocktails. I think I will likely stick with beer, but I like that the Brewers Association, the organization that runs the festival, continues to adapt to changing consumer tastes.
Eliminating the Saturday evening session is somewhat of a surprise, but I can see why the organizers have made this change. I have heard that scheduling is part of the reason: Brewers and brewery personnel who attend the event can save on travel costs, now that they don’t need to stay Saturday night.
As a consumer/participant/media member, the elimination of Saturday evening is good because it means less attendee frustration. Too often, specific beers were completely tapped out by Saturday night, which wasn’t fair to attendees who paid to attend this session, only to find that a good percentage of the beer options were unavailable. This shouldn’t be as great of a problem now. And that means there should be more award-winning beers available to sample.

Sounds like a great event, I bet everyone has a great time when they attend the Beer Festival. A lot of my friends enjoy a cold beer so this would be right up their alley.

I’ve been to wine festivals, but never a beer one. It would be fun to try all of the different types of beers! Cheers!!
Festivals can be great fun. You can discover some great products. I’d leave the beer to the hubby, I’d try the cocktails!
This is awesome, always love these types of events and meet people. Although don’t drink beer a lot. I would enjoy going to this event.
