The Greenbrier, often referred to as “America’s Resort”, is sponsoring a weekend of beer and blues music as a third installment in its Discovery Weekend series.
From Friday, January 31, through Sunday, February 2, 2014, guests are invited to enjoy a weekend of craft beer and blues music complete with beer tastings, special dinners, demo sessions, lectures, and live music featuring some of the top musical talent in the area. Dubbed the “Brews and Blues Weekend”, it brings together local and regional craft beer with musical acts such as the Adrian Duke Project, Jane Powell, and others.

Brews & Blues Reception in the Crystal Room– The event starts with an evening of craft beer tasting and blues music. Featured breweries include Bridge Brew Works, Mountain State Brewing, Blue Mountain Brewing, and Morgantown Brewing with music supplied by the Adrian Duke Project.
Mountain State Brewing Beer Dinner in Prime 44 West Vineyard– A representative from Mountain State Brewing will be available to guide guests as they enjoy a barbeque- inspired dinner paired with different beer styles from the Mountain State portfolio.
History of the Microbrew in America in the Crystal Room-This educational lesson will be presented by Charles Rick of Blue Mountain Brewery. He will walk guests through more than two centuries of craft beer in America, highlighting the most critical moments for the beer industry.
Home Brewing with Bridge Brew Works in the Crystal Room– Bridge Brew Works founders Ken Linch and Nathan Herrold take over the microphone for this presentation on how to make great beer from the comforts of home.
Bridge Brew Works Beer Dinner in Prime 44 West Vineyard– Ken Linch and Nathan Herrold again take the helm for this beer dinner. They will be ready to guide guests as they sample each course is sampled and each beer is tasted.
Have Your Beer and Eat it Too, in the Culinary Arts Center– In honor of the upcoming Super Bowl, The Greenbrier team will demonstrate some recipes, utilizing beer as a main ingredient, that are perfect for a game night. Foods can be tasted and recipe cards will be included.
