Boston’s Harpoon Brewery, the employee- owned brewery that created New England’s first IPA, has launched a holiday giveaway. Harpoon wants to “Spread Holiday Cheer” and is ready to award prizes to consumers who can find one of the golden cans.
Celebrating 30 Years
Where do beer lovers find these elusive golden cans? In limited edition 12- packs, that’s where. Harpoon IPA has released these limited edition 12 packs to retailers throughout its distribution footprint. And if you can find a 12 pack containing one of the golden cans, you will be an instant winner. You will also be in the running for one of two grand prizes: Hosting the ultimate holiday party for up to 30 people at one of Harpoon’s two brewery locations.
Dan Kenary, CEO and co- founder of Harpoon parent Mass Bay Beer Company, says the giveaway celebrates not just the season, but also Harpoon IPA itself, which has been around for three decades.
“This year marks the 30th anniversary of our flagship beer, Harpoon IPA, and for such a momentous milestone, we wanted to do something special to celebrate,” said Kenary. “The Harpoon ‘Spread Holiday Cheer Giveaway’ offers us the chance to reward those who have supported Harpoon IPA through its long history with prizes that help ring in the spirit of the season, Harpoon style.”
What are the Prizes?
Harpoon Brewery’s “Spread Holiday Cheer Giveaway” program will award 27 Harpoon beer lovers. There will be 2 grand prize winners, 5 second place winners and 20 runner-up winners. The plan is to award the pair of grand prize winners, through random drawing, on or around December 8th. One of the two winners will be awarded with their own epic holiday party hosted at Harpoon Brewery’s Boston location. The other winner will receive a holiday bash for themselves and friends at the Harpoon Brewery Taproom & Beer Garden in Windsor, VT.
Second place winners will receive a custom 23- liter cooler & charcuterie board from Vermont Farmstead. Runners up will receive a Harpoon IPA swag pack including a Harpoon IPA hat or t-shirt, 4 Harpoon IPA pint glasses and koozies.
When Does the Giveaway Run and Who Can Enter?
The Harpoon “Spread Holiday Cheer Giveaway” will be open from October 15, 2023 through December 1st at 11:59PM EST. Anyone who is a United States resident and 21 years of age or older is eligible to enter.

Oohhh wow, that’s been a long time serving distillery to the masses. The golden colour is a unique one, I must say. Usually, it’s the dark colours used. (I wonder why)
