Golden Monkey, the award- winning Belgian Tripel ale from Victory Brewing Company , is about to award its legions of fans with an opportunity to win a photo/video contest surrounding the beloved spicy brew and the adorable jungle creature that adorns every bottle and can.
Victory Brewing is asking Golden Monkey fans everywhere to express their affection for this creative beer by showing a bit of their own creativity through the use of photographs or video. The contest begins on August 29, 2016 and runs through October 10, 2016 and it encourages fans of all stripes to snap a photo or create a video that demonstrates your own personal feelings toward Golden Monkey and why you love it so. Fans are encouraged to express themselves in the most creative way possible by telling a story about Golden Monkey and what it means to you; sharing a Golden Monkey memory from the past; directing a video that expresses your love for the monkey; etc. Once you think you’ve got the prize winning entry, just go to http://respectthemonkey.victorybeer.com/submit-your-story/ to enter.
Entries will be judged by a panel of six judges who will narrow the photo and videos down to five finalists in each of these two categories. Judging will take place between October 11 and October 15 and scoring will be based on:
- Originality: 25%
- Creativity of presentation: 25%
- Appropriateness to the ‘Monkey Tales’ theme: 30%
- Positive public appeal through likes, shares and comments: 20%
Victory fans will make the final decision, casting votes for the Grand Prize Winner for photo and the Grand Prize Winner for video. The winners will be announced October 29 and each will receive cool prizes including rare, exclusive Golden Monkey memorabilia such as autographed banners, posters, etc.
Victory Brewing co- founder and brewer Bill Covaleski has his own feelings toward the Monkey and he is anxious to see the different ways that craft beer fans express their love.
“My Golden Monkey tale will be different from what others have experienced because I see the monkey through a slightly different lens,” said Covaleski. “However, we all have fallen in love with the spirit and the soul of this delicious and powerful ale because it resonates with so many craft beer fans. I can’t wait to see what this contest will bring.”
