Austin’s Independence Brewing announces the launch of its new tasting room which will feature an updated design, expanded hours and new pricing system. The new tasting room design by Darby Hale Design includes a larger wrap-around bar, additional seating, new lighting, and various room renovations. With an increased number of taps, patrons will now be able to pay by the pint and can try a variety of the award-winning brews with a flight. Eventually, Independence will be offering experimental beers that can only be found at the brewery. February 21 will mark the official unveiling with a grand opening party, open to the public.
Founders Rob and Amy Cartwright have launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to get Independence fans, beer lovers and the community involved in the renovation from the ground up. Various contribution levels include supporter t-shirts, contributions to become a founding member of the brewery’s ‘Mug Club’ (includes special discounts and an annual party), a personalized star on the ‘wall of stars’, securing one of 10 seats at the Stammtisch table (in the German beer hall tradition, this is a table reserved for locals), and even the opportunity to brew with head brewer Brannon Radicke on the new 3.5 pilot system.
