Brewpubs are an excellent choice when you’re looking for a place that marries great beer with equally great food. Many such establishments exist and some have morphed into chains with locations in multiple cities and states. The latest to expand into new territory is Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant, a Delaware based brewery and eatery that is set to expand into South Carolina for the first time.
Iron Hill has been around since 1996, opening its first location in Newark, Delaware. Over the years, the brewpub expanded within Delaware, then into neighboring Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The expansion into South Carolina will be the chain’s first foray into the southern United States and the Greenville, SC location, with its 7,500 square feet of space and indoor/outdoor areas, is certain to wow customers. Iron Hill co- founder Kevin Finn says the decision to expand to the Carolinas was driven in part by the area’s penchant for craft beer.
“The Carolinas continue to be a hotbed of activity for the craft beer industry with Greenville as one of the more prominent cities within that fold,” says Finn. “Our team is thrilled to become part of this vibrant community and assist with its growth through new jobs and a new place to enjoy great food, great beer and each other. Our simple philosophy of pairing our craft menu items with our made from scratch beer has made us a compelling force in the hospitality industry for over two decades. We look forward to bringing our trademark hospitality to Greenville and to raising a pint with our newly expanded family.”
The brand new Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant will be located at 741 Haywood Road, close to the Haywood Mall, Greenville Zoo, and the convention center. The new facility will seat 250 and is certain to become one of the focal points on the Greenville, SC food and beer scene, so be sure to pay a visit if you’re in the area.
