Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant, one of the most award winning breweries of all time, has announced the release of its Kryptonite Double IPA in cans. The beer is packaged in 16 oz. metal cans and it will be available as a four- pack to go at all Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant locations in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and South Carolina.
Kryptonite Double IPA has been around for several years on draft and its ratings place it among the brewery’s most beloved beers. The beer features flavors of citrus, tropical fruit, and pine and is brewed with Columbus, Centennial, Chinook, Amarillo, Mosaic, Simcoe, and Citra hops. The final product contains 9.4 percent alcohol by volume with a sharply bitter edge.
Iron Hill is, of course, as much about delicious food as it is about beer and Kryptonite Double IPA does match well with certain items on the Iron Hill menu. The folks at Iron Hill recommend pairing this big brew with Gold Medal Baby Back Ribs. These ribs are coated with a barbecue glaze made with Iron Hill’s own Bedotter Golden Ale and the taste of the glaze matches well with the fruit hop flavors of the IPA.
Mark Edelon, Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant co- founder and Director of Brewery Operations, says the decision to start packaging Kryptonite Double IPA in cans was an easy one, given the popularity of the IPA style.
“IPAs as a craft beer category still remain strong, and hoppy innovations like Hazy and Juicy IPAs, as well as Fruited IPAs, have helped to grow the category in recent years.”, said Edelson. “Despite all these innovative variations, American IPA still remains king of the IPAs. For this reason, we are thrilled to can our first Double IPA with Kryptonite and look forward to seeing the emerging trends that will come from this category.”
