The Katy Wild West Brewfest (WWBF) has expanded from 43,000 square feet in its first 3 years to 143,000 square feet of shear beer nirvana in its 4th year. “Within this massive space you will find over 150 brewers featuring over 550 craft brews,” said David Loesch event chairman.
This festival will feature various different “zones” within the space itself, here are just a few:
WWBF will feature a Game Tent sponsored by Grace Care Centers of Katy featuring games such as pinball, arcade video games, shuffleboard and air hockey, all free to our guests! 8th Wonder Brewery will be providing the liquid (over 12 taps) for this unique and climate controlled space.
Thanks to BB&T and the Ballard House in Katy, our VIP tent known as the Hop House will include over 10,000 square feet of climate controlled space. We will be featuring over 30 taps of rare beer that you will not find anywhere else along with food and a DJ who will be providing great tunes all day long! This will be a great place to sit and relax with your friends and family while enjoying all the comforts that you would expect from a high end VIP space.
In addition, No Label Brewery and Light it Right will be providing an authentic Beer Garden for our patrons that will rival the ones in Munich. This unique space will feature a custom tap wall featuring over 15 taps with open air seating. It will be available to all, making it a great gathering spot for everyone in attendance.
The event itself is great for bringing tourism into the city of Katy TX, which happens to be a major sponsor of the event. With beer representing over 17 states at the 2015 event and visitors coming from as far as the Netherlands, the Wild West Brew Fest is quickly becoming a world destination event!
Wild West Brewfest will have excellent entertainment on two stages all day long, and an awesome brewing contest, best dressed volunteer contest, and “best bites” contest in the VIP area.
The Wild West Brewfest is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Katy and what is amazing is that no management fees are taken from the proceeds. The festival is 100% volunteer oriented and 100% of the profits are donated to worthy causes. In 2015 the event brought in an amazing $113,000, which was given to several charities in the local area bringing the total amount given away in the WWBF’s short 4-year existence to over $250,000. We encourage you to check out the Katy Wild West Brew Fest to learn more about not only the great beer and good times you will have, but also the charity aspect of this event, placing it in a league of its own.
What a great advert for how kind people in the brewing industry can be, as there are so many beer festivals supporting or completely fund raising for good causes. It’s great to hear how beer is being used in such a positive way in support of community.
There are some amazing festivals in existence, both non-profit and for profit, but the blood, sweat, tears and beer that Katy Rotary and its supporters contribute is epic. The balance of bringing together amazing beer and good vibes for a good cause is phenomenal, and event chairman David Loesch is forever grateful and proud of what the event has accomplished. “Thanks goes to all of our sponsors, volunteers, team members, the Rotary Club of Katy and our patrons for without them this event would not happen. Its a great thing when you have a vehicle like beer to provide so much good” said Loesch.
Please check this event out and grab a room at one of the local hotels (which are on property), all while supporting your local breweries and helping others in the process! Visit the Wild West Brewfest site and buy your tickets today!
