Kona Brewing Company has another new beer, one certain to thrill those who love IPA with added tropical elements. The new brew is Gold Cliff IPA, a beer that features caramel and acidulated malts with Mosaic, Citra, Topaz, and Chinook hops for a true taste of an island paradise.
Gold Cliff IPA takes its name from a popular activity on the Hawaiian island of Lanai- the island where most of Hawaii’s pineapple crop is grown. The island is home to a 70 foot bluff overlooking Kaunolu Cove and many adventurers come here each day to launch themselves into the waters below. The new beer is meant to mimic the same energy that goes into each and every dive from these golden cliffs.
Billy Smith, head brewer at Kona Brewing, says this new beer encompasses the Lanai lifestyle.
“While all of Hawaii shares in the same proud Aloha Spirit, each island bears its own unique personality,” said Smith. “Gold Cliff IPA takes the uniqueness of Lanai’s congenial yet bold spirit and, with a tropical touch, creates a beer that is adventurous yet approachable.”
Gold Cliff IPA contains 7.2 percent alcohol by volume and is slated for distribution nationally on May 7, 2018. It will be available in draught and in 6 packs where Kona Brewing beer is presently sold. To learn more about Kona Brewing or Gold Cliff IPA, visit konabrewingco.com.
