Wisconsin’s largest craft beer week returns May 1-10, 2015 to celebrate its 5th anniversary! Craft beer lovers will have the opportunity to choose from a multitude of events ranging from tap takeovers and special releases to educational classes, beer and cheese pairings and brewer meet-and-greets. Over 100 different Greater Madison area restaurants, pubs and breweries will host more than 380 events as part of this year’s Madison Craft Beer Week (MCBW). The official Kick-Off Celebration and Cask Ale Festival will take place at the East Side Club on May 2 from 11am-3pm. Tickets for the 2015 Kick-Off Celebration and Cask Ale Festival are available here.
“We are excited to formally announce the date and location of the Kick-Off Celebration and Cask Ale Festival,” said Robyn Klinge, co-founder of Madison Craft Beer Week. “The Cask Ale Festival will have special casks from over 17 breweries that you won’t be able to get anywhere else. This is a great way for craft beer enthusiasts to come together and celebrate the start of Madison Craft Beer Week,” added Klinge.
Since its inception in 2010, Madison Craft Beer Week has promoted Madison’s thriving craft beer culture by sponsoring a ten-day (two weekend) festival that highlights Wisconsin’s regional brewing heritage and serves as a showcase for the Madison area’s breweries, restaurants, pubs, caterers, retailers, entertainers, and other businesses with ties to the craft beer community. The 2015 Platinum sponsor is Sprecher Brewing Co. Watch the events pour in at www.madbeerweek.com.
The GMCVB is honored to play a key role in supporting the more than 19,000 Dane County jobs supported by tourism. Promoting tourism in Madison since 1972, the GMCVB continues to work tirelessly to expand upon the more than $1.7 billion dollars generated by visitor spending in Dane County every year.
A very special event on May 3 will celebrate Brewland, a documentary in-the-making about craft beer culture throughout the United States. Brewland’s filmmakers will be attending the event to meet with craft beer enthusiasts and hold interviews for the film.
