Picturesque Jackson Hole, Wyoming has proven yet again that a city small in population can easily be big on talent.
Melvin Brewing, one of a few brewing operations that call Jackson, Wyoming home, emerged victorious once again at this year’s Great American Beer Festival. The small brewing operation took home a Gold Medal for its Melvin Fresh Hop Ale, adding to Melvin’s stash of awards and solidifying its claim as one of the finest craft breweries in the West. Co- founder Jeremy Tofte is proud to see one of his brewery’s original beers awarded with the GABF top prize.
“As we continue to grow, being recognized for one of our flagship beers is the icing on the cake. In the last eight months, we have opened up three markets with Denver being one of our strongest,” said Tofte.
Last year, Melvin Brewing won a pair of Great American Beer Festival medals plus the prestigious Small Brewpub and Small Brewpub Brewer of the Year award. Go back to 2014 and Melvin Brewing and you’ll find Melvin Brewing listed as the recipient of awards from The World Beer Cup. The brewery had its first taste of Great American Beer Festival glory in 2012 when it was known as Thai Me Up Brewery, taking home three medals that year, including two Gold and one Silver. For a brewing operation that has been around only since 2009, Melvin has made quite a name for itself and has received much positive recognition from critics and craft beer fans alike.
Melvin Brewing is located in downtown Jackson Hole and is part of Thai Me Up Restaurant. Just recently, the brewery expanded by adding a production facility in Alpine Wyoming, complete with a Newlands 30 barrel, 4 vessel brewing system. Melvin Brewing is an innovative operation that continues to outdo itself and it makes a great stopover for food and beer on your way to the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, and surrounding areas. I don’t expect the emphasis on quality to diminish anytime soon, so be sure to make room on your schedule to visit Melvin Brewing the next time you’re in the area.
