With near perfect weather conditions year- round, San Diego is tough to beat as a location for an outdoor event and one festival that is making its debut this year is the Mexico Gourmet Festival, scheduled for Saturday, June 1 at Embarcadero Marina Park South, located close to the Gaslamp Quarter, right next to San Diego Bay.

The Mexico Gourmet Festival is a culture festival showcasing all of the things that make Mexican culture so endearing to so many. The event runs from 5pm to 9pm and features some of the finest Mexican food dishes prepared and served by some of San Diego’s and Mexico’s best chefs. Guests can expect to discover the following:
Food and more food– Arouse your taste buds with food dishes made by four renowned culinary schools
Competition– Chefs from the San Diego area and Mexico will compete to see who can create a food dish that most closely represents the authentic flavors of Mexico.
Celebrity foods and appearances– If you like meeting and mingling with the powerhouses of fine Mexican cuisine, you have come to the right event! Expect to discover foods prepared by and appearances made by prominent chefs such as Martin San Roman (Fauchon, Hotel Le Meridien Paris, Hotel Grand Intercontinental Paris, Hilton London, Westgate San Diego, Hotel Raffles Singapore, Le Tour de France, Rincón San Roman); Mario Medina (Chateau La Jolla Inn, Paradise Grill, Finch’s Bistro, Bernini’s Bistro); Daniella de la Puente (La Boheme, Rústico, La Cocina Secreta); Natalie Curie (El Coraloense); Vicente Ortiz (El Pescador, Don Chente Bar & Grill Lounge); Javier Rubio (Mission Bay Yacht Club); Jorge Carmona (Chirio Chef); Hector Casanova (Casanova Fish Tacos) and Luisteen Gonzalez (Puesto Restaurants) .
Fine wine– California is no stranger to wine and guests will have much from which to choose, produced by several of the best Baja California vineyards.
Tequila– No Mexican cultural festival would be complete without Mexico’s signature liquor. An assortment of Tequila and artisanal Mezcal and popular cocktails will quench your thirst between snacks.
Craft beer– Yes, this is southern California and yes, there will be plenty of suds to keep craft beer fans content, with all you can drink service included with the price of admission.
Live music and performances– The entertainment will continue throughout the evening with live music and dance.
