Keeping craft beer fans informed about upcoming events and improving craft beer education are important initiatives. The Michigan Brewers Guild is striving to accomplish both goals with the launch of a new podcast. Dubbed Michigan’s Great Beer State Podcast, the program will focus on the folks who work tirelessly to bring Michigan brewed beer to the masses.
This new podcast will feature interviews from the Guild’s own documentary book project, ‘A Rising Tide: Stories from the Michigan Brewers Guild’, along with fresh material from individuals who are presently impacting Michigan’s craft beer community in important ways. The podcast is hosted by Michigan Brewer’s Guild Executive Director Scott Graham and author Fred Bueltmann, also known as The Beervangelist.
Graham says the plan is to offer special access to Guild supporters and he expects to implement the necessary changes in the coming weeks.
“We are planning an exclusive offer for our Enthusiast Members, providing access to the live recording of the conversational introductions of these episodes, as well as an open forum Question & Answer session immediately following,” said Graham. “We plan to have the technical and logistical details of this behind-the-scenes opportunity ironed out and announced within the month of June 2020.”
Currently, there are three podcast episodes available. The inaugural episode features Fred and Scott introducing the podcast and informing listeners about its purpose and goals; discussion of the COVID-19 impact on the beer industry; and talk about the Guild’s spring and summer beer festivals. Episode number 2 includes interviews with Jack Archiable from Traverse Brewing Company and Short’s Brewing. Episode number 3 includes a round of small talk with Kim Collins of Guardian Brewing in Saugatuck.
Michigan’s Great Beer State Podcast will be available through Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, Podbean, Tuneln, Blurbrry, Stitcher, and Player.FM. It will also be available via YouTube on the MBG channel. You can also listen to the podcast and view the video on MiBeer.com.
We at Great Beer Now love our Michigan brewed suds and have taken multiple trips to the state to check out the craft beer scene. Great Beer Now is hoping for a return to Michigan at some point soon, to attend one of the Guild’s Beer Festivals and explore and learn more about Michigan beer and the amazing craft beer community.
