National Homebrew Day falls on May 7 each year and it’s a day that the American Homebrewers Association sets aside to honor homemade beer and the individuals who brew it. The American Homebrewer’s Association celebrates another event in May, AHA Big Brew, which takes place on the first Saturday in May. This year, May 7 happens to also be the first Saturday of the month and to mark this special occasion, the American Homebrewers Association is scheduling a worldwide toast at 12 p.m. CDT.
Saturday, May 7 will, of course, be a day of homebrew celebration as bars, breweries, homebrew supply shops, and homebrew clubs nationwide honor the time- honored tradition of homemade beer in unique ways. When the clock strikes 12 p.m. CDT, everyone is encouraged to raise a glass of homebrew (other beer will do, if no homebrew is available) in a massive toast to homebrewing. Arms and glassware around the world will be held high at this hour of the day, glorifying the greatness that is homebrew and the joy it brings to people all over the globe.
