Colorado’s Odell Brewing Company is the proud owner of several popular beers, many of which have grown to become everyday drinking partners for the craft beer faithful. But Odell Brewing is not the type of business to rest on its laurels, and in 2019, the brewery has several new products ready for release. Odell C.O.O Brendan McGivney says the new beers continue the brewery’s spirit of innovation and ongoing desire to improve customer satisfaction.
“Here at Odell innovation is in our DNA and we believe that the next great beer is just around the corner,” explains McGivney. “We’ve spent the better part of 2018 planning and pilot brewing for these new releases and we couldn’t be more excited to share them with our fans.”
Odell plans to enhance the market presence of two of its beers, Sippin’ Pretty and Colorado Lager, while releasing two brand new beers, updating one existing beer, and resurrecting a favorite from the past. Here are some of the changes in store for 2019:
Wolf Picker– An experimental IPA, this beer is named after the hop harvesting machine so common at hop farms and it celebrates Odell’s positive relationships with hop farmers. This seasonal release beer is brewed using an experimental hop known as Strata, a hop that imparts flavors of grapefruit, peach and mango. Mountain Standard IPA– In March, 2019, Odell Brewing will release a new version of its Mountain Standard IPA. The new take will feature an updated recipe that will transform the once Black IPA into an entirely new brew. The new version will feature hand-selected, modern American hop varieties that emphasize juicy, tropical notes and bold, vibrant aromas. This will be a year- round offering, available in six packs of 12 oz. cans.
Hammerchain– Set for release in May, 2019, Hammerchain is a double IPA that will be brewed using fresh hops ground at the brewery using Odell’s custom hammermill. The hops used in the recipe will again emphasize tropical fruit with added flavors of peach and sweet stone fruit. This limited release beer will be offered in 6 pack cans.
180 Shilling– Fan favorite 180 Shilling is going to make a comeback. Following a five year hiatus, this heavyweight version of the flagship 90 Shilling is beloved for its earthy hops, roasted malt flavors, and complex notes of vanilla, toffee, and dark fruits. It will be released as part of Odell’s 30th anniversary celebration.
