Odell Brewing, one of Colorado’s most beloved exports and a go- to brand of beer for so many craft beer fans, has announced the release of a new beer. It’s Odell D.D.H., which stands for Double Dry Hopped, an Imperial IPA.
Odell is known for its hop- accented brews so it is no surprise that the brewery would try its hand at a double dry hopped IPA. With D.D.H., Odell seized the opportunity not just to showcase hops, but to unleash the synergy of two specific hops in a single brew. Odell COO Brendan McGivney says the marriage of these hops is what sets this new beer apart.
“Many of our IPAs are dry-hopped with several hop varieties,” explains McGivney. “For D.D.H. we had an opportunity to highlight two of our favorite hops, Chinook and Galaxy and showcase how amazing they are when they’re brought together.”
Chinook hops have been around for a while and are a popular craft beer hop variety. They are an American hop breed notable for their flavors of pine and citrus. Galaxy hops are not as widely used but are growing in popularity. They originated in Australia and impart flavors of passion fruit and peach.
Odell D.D.H. Imperial IPA is a limited release beer. It weighs in at 8.2 percent alcohol by volume and will be available where Odell products are presently sold. It will be packaged in 6- packs of 12 oz. cans and on draft throughout Odell’s 19 state distribution network. Grab a sixer or a draft when you can and experience this successful marriage of two compatible hop varieties in a single brew.
