Colorado’s Oskar Blues Brewery, the company that helped re-popularize beer packaged in metal, is teaming up with Draft Magazine for a sweepstakes giveaway. It’s called the REEBellion at the Ranch and it is the most amazing Oskar Blues giveaway yet.
Oskar Blues, as most beer lovers know, is headquartered in Colorado, a state synonymous with mountains and natural beauty. Oskar Blues also has another brewery in the Appalachian mountains- Brevard, North Carolina, to be precise. The REEB ranch is located only minutes from the brewery and it serves as a popular getaway for mountain bikers, campers, wedding parties, and others who want the peace and tranquility that a country/mountain setting often brings. The winner of the REEBellion at the Ranch sweepstakes will receive a three day, three night trip for four to this exclusive ranch with a chance to partake in races and rides on trails through the Pisgah and Dupont forests.
The trip will include airfare, transportation, meals, gear and lodging at the REEB Ranch Waterfall Cabin for the winner and three guests. The package also includes VIP Oskar Blues Brewery treatment with a behind the scenes tour, special tastings, live musical entertainment, bonfires, and a large and wide assortment of Oskar Blues beer.
With mountain biking so popular with ranch- goers, the prize package will also include a custom REEB Cycles bike for the winner. REEB operator Tim Moore says the REEB Cycle is about the best you can get for biking in this type of terrain.
“REEBs are one-of-kind, all-American, and welded by the best in the business,” said Moore. “All of our steel tubing comes from True Temper Sports and small parts from Paragon Machine Works. These bikes are made for the types of terrain we love to ride. It’s pretty cool that the winner will be able to ride a REEB on the North Carolina trails they were designed for.” Oskar Blues Brewery marketing expert Aaron Baker concurs, adding that “The trails around Brevard are, without question, the best on the east coast. Pisgah offers over 200 miles of singletrack full of gnarly roots and rocks. DuPont complements the ruggedness of Pisgah with flowy trails and some rare eastern slick rock.”
The big prize winner will have a grand time at the ranch, breathing in the fresh mountain air while sipping on Oskar Blues beer. But there will be other prizes awarded as well, like specially-branded Smith Optics gear and a fully loaded Eagle’s Nest Outfitters hammock setup.
Besides riding their new REEB Cycle through the forest trails, the winner can also enjoy some spectator action and watch any one of a series of races or other biking events scheduled for REEBellion weekend:
Blue Ridge Adventures presents the Oskar Blues Dirt Diggler Gravel Grinder: This is a 47-mile backcountry tour featuring gravel roads and even a little singletrack. It could be a challenge, but a quality bike like the REEB Cycle should make the task a little easier.
Cane Creek Cycling Components presents the REEB Ranch dual slalom challenge: This is a race down the recently built dual slalom course. This new course uses red clay from the Red Bull Dreamline course to create an epic downhill experience.
Asheville Cyclocross presents the REEB Ranch Cyclocross: This entertaining race sends participants throughout the REEB Ranch. Racers will go through the barn, pedal up steep hills, and make their way through the cow pasture, among other things.
