Oskar Blues Brewery, the Colorado brewing operation that helped popularized metal can packaging, is about to make some changes to its packaging- the first changes to the metal sleeve artwork in quite some time.
Oskar Blues founder Dale Katechis says the time is right for a bold, modern change to the cans.
“Since the very beginning, we’ve focused on liquid innovation and making the freshest, biggest, most stoke-worthy beers for our fans,” said Katechis. “And now the packaging is just as fresh as the beer.”
Dale’s Pale Ale was the first of the Oskar Blues lineup to make its way to metal cans and for many craft beer drinkers, it marked the first time they had popped the top of a craft packaging vessel that wasn’t made from glass. Dale’s Pale Ale is getting a brand new look, but it isn’t the only one. The changes are all- encompassing, with new designs for all Oskar Blues branded cans, secondary packaging, even the brewery’s logo.
The new design for each Oskar Blues brand is modern and fresh, with a new look that is intended to represent the boldness and unique character of each beer style. But there are some commonalities among the changes, including the stars and stripes on each can and the new brewery logo.
If you have already tried Oskar Blues newcomers One-y 100 Calorie Hazy IPA and Rosé for Daze Rosé Ale, both of which were introduced in 2019, then you have already seen hints of the new design. These beers already sport the new look and will thus remain the way they were when launched last year.
Look for the all- new Oskar Blues Brewery the next time you purchase the brand at your favorite retail outlet. The new packaging is now being distributed nationwide so be on the lookout and embrace the change in 2020.
