Craft beer is an industry on the cutting edge of innovation. With so many competitors in the business, craft breweries have to continuously look for ways to stand out in the crowd. Oskar Blues Brewery is one of the leaders in creativity and innovation and positive proof is the company’s latest product launch, Wild Basin Boozy Sparkling Water.
Wild Basin uses water drawn from the St. Vrain River to craft what will go down in the history books as the first ever national craft hard seltzer water. The new product is created and canned at Oskar Blues’ Longmont, Colorado production facility and it is intended, in part, to appeal to those consumers who want the occasional boozy treat but who also like to stay active and who love the great outdoors.
CANarchy is the craft beer collective that owns and operates Oskar Blues and several other craft beer brands and its President, Matt Fraser, says Wild Basin Boozy Sparkling Water has been well- received so far. Hee is convinced the idea of boozy seltzer water is one that will be an ongoing hit with consumers.
“The response from both distributors and retailers so far has been tremendous,” said Fraser. “We’ll do whatever it takes to ensure that we have product in warehouses and on shelves.” To that end, Oskar Blues is making a significant investment in new canning and packaging lines that are able to handle sleek cans at volume.
Wild Basin Boozy Sparling Water does, indeed, contain nutritional numbers that make it stand out in the crowd and adds to its appeal among dieters and others who want to keep calories and carbs in check. A can of Wild Basic contains 5 percent alcohol by volume and has only 100 calories. Keto dieters will also love the fact that there is no sugar and only a single gram of carbs. Add to that its gluten- free qualities and all natural flavors and you have a beverage perfect for the health- conscious among us.
Wild Basin is offered in four flavor varieties: Cucumber Peach, Melon Basil, Lemon Agave Hibiscus, and Classic Lime. More flavors are likely to launch in due time. In keeping with the charitable efforts of CANarchy, Oskar Blues will donate $1 per case to its own Can’d Aid Foundation with money going toward river preservation and other worthy causes.
Wild Basin will launch in January, 2019 with Colorado and North Carolina as its first two states for distribution. Eventually, the product will make its way across the nation, so be on the lookout for this new product in places where Oskar Blues is presently sold.

I have yet to try this. I prefer beer, but anything with Oskar Blues name on it has to be good!
