French’s Mustard, the classic, iconic brand that has graced its presence on more hot dogs and other sandwiches than any other American mustard brand, is partnering with Oskar Blues on a new beer. French’s Mustard Beer will be canned and available right in time to celebrate National Mustard Day, set for August 1.
French’s Mustard Beer is a limited release tropical wheat beer and it does contain French’s classic yellow mustard as one of its ingredients. The other ingredients include key lime, lemon, tangerine, and passion fruit. These flavors combine to complement the flavor of the mustard and make the beer perfect for a summer cookout.
Oskar Blues Head Brewer Juice Drapeau says the new beer is yet another example of the brewery’s willingness to create new and sometimes unusual craft beers.
“We’re stoked on bold flavors at Oskar Blues Brewery and we never shy away from a challenge,” said Drapeau. “With French’s Mustard Beer we elevated the Classic Yellow Mustard flavor with tangy lemon and lime to create a tropical wheat ale I’d pair with a loaded hot dog on the hottest day of the year.”
Jill Pratt, French’s Chief Marketing Excellence Officer, says the partnership with Oskar Blues is the type of business arrangement her company promotes and encourages.
“French’s enjoys creating new curiosity around a flavor that has been a staple in homes for over 115 years,” said Pratt. “The incredible reaction to last year’s release of our Mustard Ice Cream showed us how far people are willing to go to savor this favorite condiment. We promise this French’s Mustard Beer will not disappoint either.”
French’s Mustard Beer will be available on CraftShack, a national craft beer marketplace and platform, starting on August 1. It will be available on tap at the Oskar Blues taprooms in Boulder and Longmont, Colorado and Brevard, North Carolina. To learn more about this beer, visit online at www.Mustardbeer.com.
This is definitely nottt a combination I would’ve thought of for beer, but they definitely make it sound palatable! 😛 I love anything with passionfruit + it sounds perfect for summer!
